Job summary

South Sound YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic part-time instructor to lead youth and family classes at our Olympia location. You will deliver YMCA-approved activities, ensure a safe environment, and reinforce the YMCA values in every session.

You will promote additional YMCA programs when suitable and seek feedback from participants to continually improve the experience. Ongoing learning through workshops and peer observation is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must hold YMCA Group Exercise Instructor certification or national certification (e.g., ACE, AFAA).
• Current CPR, AED and First Aid must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• New Employee Orientation within 45 days of hire.
• Commitment to developing positive relationships with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Lead YMCA approved youth and family classes and activities.
• Maintain a safe environment for all participants.
• Incorporate YMCA values in class content and discussions.
• Promote other YMCA programs during classes when appropriate.
• Seek participant feedback to improve programs; attend workshops and observe others.
