Job summary

The YMCA at Alexandria, part of YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, is hiring dedicated and enthusiastic Group Leaders for our School Age Child Care program. This is a meaningful opportunity to positively impact children's lives in a supportive afterschool environment.

Responsibilities include supervising school‑age children, planning engaging daily activities, creating a safe, nurturing space, and communicating with families and program staff.

Qualifications

• Experience with elementary-middle aged children in school/childcare settings.
• High school diploma or GED; relevant coursework or degree preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Strong interpersonal and behavior management skills.

Location: YMCA at Alexandria
Compensation: $15 -$18 an per hour
Schedule: Part-Time | Mornings/Evening Hours | School Year

• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience fostering an environment for children of all abilities is valued.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• Before Care 6:30am-8:00am and or
• After Care 2:30pm-6:30pm
