Summary:

The Unconventional (TU) is seeking a qualified Interpreter to support the Department of Justice (DOJ) with Translation, Interpretation, Transcription, and other Linguistic Support Services (LSS). Activities include translating documents (written and electronic), media content (audio/video), and providing court and deposition interpretation. Source materials involve legal, medical, scientific, financial, historical, geographical, and military terminology, often with specialized or technical language.

The materials are sensitive, requiring strict confidentiality and control measures.

Requirements:

• Provide interpretation services within 3 hours of request.

Qualifications:

• Specialized training and/or extensive experience in legal interpretation.
• At least 4 years of relevant interpretation experience.
• ILR 3 or equivalent score.
• Residency in the U.S. for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
• At least 1 year of experience with law enforcement or legal departments.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Fluency in English and the foreign language, including slang and regionalisms.
• Proficiency with CAT tools, especially SDL Trados Studio.
• Active Public Trust or higher security clearance.

Location: Remote/NCR/Various CONUS; some travel may be required.
