Job summary

The YMCA is seeking a Lifeguard to help keep our pool area safe and welcoming. You’ll monitor activity, enforce rules, and provide CPR/aed response when needed. Training and team collaboration are essential to maintaining a secure environment for all members.

We value a calm, customer-focused team player who can assist with swim programs and uphold YMCA values. Eligible candidates must be at least 16 and hold a YMCA/Red Cross lifeguard certification.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Hold a valid lifeguard certification (YMCA or Red Cross) with CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen administration.
• Strong swimming skills and ability to perform rescue techniques.
• Able to stay calm and focused during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Proactively monitor pool areas and enforce safety rules.
• Respond to emergencies with first aid and CPR to protect members.
• Inspect pool equipment and facilities and report issues.
• Assist with swim lessons and aquatics programs.
• Attend trainings and staff meetings to stay up-to-date on safety procedures.
