Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) seeks a year-round intern in Chicago to support Data Platform Core and Data Services on cloud-based data processing. The program runs January 2027 through December 2027, up to 20 hours per week during school and up to 40 hours in summer.

You will gain real-world financial services experience, contribute to tooling, and learn CI/CD, Kubernetes, Kafka, and AI-assisted coding in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Rising senior or second-year graduate student. Graduating Dec 2027 or May/Aug 2028.
• Majors: Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics.
• Knowledge of SQL, data analytics, Python and/or Java.

Responsibilities

• Work with Data Platform Core and Data Services on cloud-based data processing and data access with SQL, Java, Python, Kubernetes, Kafka.
• Collaborate on planning, documenting requirements, writing SQL, and troubleshooting issues.
• Learn new tools and technologies; participate in sprint reviews and present end-of-sprint deliverables.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code to speed feature development and code review in a regulated environment.
• Collaborate with business users and technical teams to understand data needs and provide accessible data for analysts.
