Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is hiring a Yardspotter at our Longmont, CO distribution center. You will drive tractors/yard trucks to position trailers, attach and secure lines, and spot trailers at doors or lots.

Expect to inspect trailers, ensure product security, and assist with loading/unloading according to safety standards. The role emphasizes reading instructions, operating within regulatory rules, and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Be able to read and comprehend an extensive variety of related written instructions.
• Comply with safety rules and attendance standards.
• Understand equipment ID numbering system and job instructions.
• Lift, lower, carry, push, pull within job requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive yard truck or tractor, attach trailers, and secure lines.
• Spot and position trailers at doors or lot locations.
• Fuel tractors/trailers and wash equipment as needed.
• Inspect trailers for defects and ensure refrigeration units function.
• Back LTL or drop trailers into designated receiving doors.
• Ensure loads are secured for transport and report issues to management.
• Read labels, follow bill of lading, and perform basic quantity calculations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
