Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Yardspotter to support trailer movement at the distribution center and assist with trailer preparation for shipping. Responsibilities include positioning trailers, inspecting loads, and ensuring refrigeration units function properly.

The role operates Monday–Friday 12:00 PM–8:30 PM with hourly pay in the mid‑$20s to high‑$20s, plus a comprehensive benefits package starting after 60 days, and vacation/sick leave accrual from day one.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No Class A CDL required.
• Accident-free driving record for past three years desired.
• Able to read and comprehend extensive written instructions.
• Able to understand equipment ID numbering system.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop to perform essential tasks.
• Comply with company safety rules and attendance standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor or yard truck to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Spot and position trailers to doors or lot locations.
• Fuel tractor or trailer and wash equipment when needed.
• Back LTL or drop trailers into designated receiving doors.
• Inspect loaded trailers for product security and functioning refrigeration units; report issues.
• Operate tractor-trailer within yard and on company premises as per regulations.
• Read, write, and understand English for work instructions and safety communications.
• Perform basic math to verify quantities of product.
