Tague Lumber in Media, PA is seeking a dependable Yardman to join our outdoor yard and warehouse team. This role focuses on safety, organization, and hands-on service for customers selecting building materials.

You will greet customers, assist with loading and unloading, operate forklifts safely, and maintain a clean, secure yard. The position requires physical work, resilience in all weather, and a strong team approach to meet daily goals.

Qualifications

• Customer service or team-based experience required.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Familiarity with building materials preferred.
• Ability to lift 60-100 lbs regularly and climb ladders or stairs as needed.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Strong attention to safety and detail.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass background, physical, and drug screening.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

As a Yardman, you will play a key role in ensuring customers receive the materials they need safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

• Greeting customers and assisting with loading and unloading materials
• Operating equipment such as forklifts safely and effectively
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe yard environment
• Order picking, wrapping products, packing, labeling shipping and receiving
• Packaging finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling)
• Following all company policies and safety procedures
• Supporting general yard and warehouse operations as needed

Required qualifications:

• Previous experience in a customer service or team-based environment

• Ability to safely lift heavy objects 60-100 lbs on a regular basis and climbing ladders or stairs to perform duties of the position

This position is based in an active warehouse and outdoor yard setting. The role involves frequent physical activity including lifting (including overhead), walking, bending, standing, and carrying materials. Employees should be comfortable working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.

Machines/Tools/Equipment

Forklifts, hand trucks, small power saws, banding equipment (used to wrap banding around building materials, wrap, tighten and then push down to secure banding).
