Job summary

Keokuk Homestore is seeking a Yard Associate / Delivery Driver to help customers in the lumberyard and to deliver orders. The role emphasizes friendly service, product knowledge, and accurate loading/unloading while maintaining a clean yard and safe practices.

You will assist customers, operate POS systems, manage inventory, load/unload vehicles, and comply with store policies. A strong work ethic and willingness to learn are required.

Qualifications

• Strong math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of effective sales methods and techniques.

• Clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers, answering their questions, helping them find merchandise, and suggesting add-on sales that will help them complete their project. This may also include processing special orders.
• Knowledge of point-of-sale systems in order to assist with price lookup, special orders, and order entry.
• Create an inviting environment for customers by maintaining a clean and orderly lumberyard, which will include housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Assist in taking regular inventory of stock.
• Assist with loading customer’s vehicles. Check invoices to make sure the correct products are loaded.
• Assist with daily upkeep and straightening of lumber stacks.
• Help yard staff with other tasks as needed.
• Be vigilant to identify shoplifters and other types of theft. Respond with appropriate action, according to store policy.
• Inspect the vehicle before starting that day’s deliveries to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
• Maintain ongoing communication with customers to update them on the status of their delivery.
• Load products into the vehicle according to company specifications.
• Unload products according to customer specifications and review orders with customers to ensure it is correct.
• Adhere to all store policies and safety standards.

Job Summary:

Yard associates are expected to maintain a positive representation of Keokuk Homestore by providing an outstanding customer service experience consistent with company values. The main task of a yard associate is to assist customers and maintain a clean and efficient lumberyard. They should be willing to continually learn and expand their knowledge of the retail industry. As a Delivery driver they are expected to maintain a positive representation of Keokuk Homestore both on the road and off. The main task of a delivery driver is to provide timely delivery of customers’ orders and provide set up and operational instructions to the customer as needed. Their job will include, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

Compensation: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
