Fenix Parts is seeking a Yard Utility Operator in East Syracuse, NY, to support production and yard activities. The role focuses on forklift operation, parts removal, and general yard tasks, with a safety-first approach and weather-ready mindset.

Qualifications

• Experience with forklift and small equipment operation.
• Understanding of mechanical equipment strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift and other salvage yard equipment.
• Assist parts pulling and remove automotive parts from salvage vehicles.
• Maintain yard cleanliness and process metals, batteries, and Freon as needed.
• Respond to customer requests efficiently.
• Perform ground-level yard work and other tasks as required.

Position Overview: Yard Utility Operator As a Yard Utility Operator, you will provide general assistance wherever needed in the production area while ensuring the safety of yourself and those around you. This role involves operating various types of equipment and maintaining the cleanliness, efficiency and safety of the yard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Forklift Operation: Operate a forklift and other salvage yard equipment.
• Parts Removal: Will assist our parts pulling operation and remove numerous types of automotive parts from salvage vehicles within the yard.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness through sweeping designated areas, emptying and sorting core bins, processing metals, packaging and weighing core batteries, and removing Freon from scrap refrigeration units.
• Customer Requests: Respond to various types of customer requests efficiently.
• General labor: and ground-level yard work throughout the shift in addition to operating equipment?

Requirements:

• Experience: Experience with forklift and small equipment operation, heavy equipment operating, general maintenance, and understanding of mechanical equipment.
• Working Conditions: Must be comfortable working outside, in all weather conditions.
• Skills: Basic computer skills, automotive parts experience preferred.
