Job summary

Relogistics in Hammond, LA is hiring a Yard Truck Driver to move loaded and unloaded trailers at our Reverse Logistics Centers. You’ll decide on trailer movements to maximize efficiency while minimizing safety incidents.

You’ll operate an Ottawa Yard Truck, perform daily checks, inspect loads, and assist with forklift operations when needed. This role rewards reliability with competitive pay, benefits, and opportunities for long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

• Operate an automatic Ottawa Yard Truck to move 53’ trailers in tight spaces.
• Perform daily equipment checks and ensure loads are secure.
• Inspect loads to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Operate forklift to move pallets when applicable.
• Stack pallets following inventory control instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment according to Relogistics standards.
• Overtime may be required.

Job description

As a Yard Truck Driver, you’ll get to move loaded and unloaded trailers around our Reverse Logistics Centers as needed. You’ll be responsible for making decision regarding the movement of trailers to maximize the efficiency of our operation and minimize safety incidents. This person will be vital to the success of our team! Hourly Pay $19.00/hr Shift(s) Friday - Sunday 600 AM - 430 PM Location Hammond, LA

• Operate an automatic Ottawa Yard Truck with the ability to maneuver 53’ long trailers into tight spaces without causing damage
• Perform daily equipment checks such as checking fluid levels, cleaning air filters, examining equipment for damage or leaks in addition to ensuring loads are secure.
• Inspect loads to ensure they are secure
• When applicable, must operate a forklift to move pallets or materials on pallets or in crates around the storage facility
• When applicable, must stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions
• When applicable, must examine products to verify conformance to quality standards
• Must maintain a clean & safe environment working environment that meets Relogistics standards
• Prior experience driving a yard truck or semi is a plus, not required
• Good math, language and reading skills with attention to detail along with basic computer skills
• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
• Understanding that overtime may be required

• Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
• Repetitively adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths
• The noise level in the work environment is dependent on location
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision
• Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination
• May be required to lift pallets by hand, each weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs.
