Job summary

United States Cold Storage, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Yard Associate to efficiently move equipment, place trailers, and maintain accurate location data in the yard management system.

You will work with shipping, receiving, and the welcome center teams, perform temperature and fuel checks, enforce safety and sanitation standards, and support security protocols. This full-time, non-exempt role requires a high school diploma or GED, prior yard spotting/trucking experience preferred, and the

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Experience: Yard spotting truck driving experience preferred.
• Bend and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Lift up to 70 lbs. occasionally, with assistance.
• Work in a temperature range from +50°F to -30°F with moderate noise levels.
• Stand and walk for extended periods; use hands to handle objects; follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move equipment throughout the lot, communicating with relevant departments and updating the yard management system.
• Place trailers in and out of doors.
• Ensure trailers are correctly identified in the yard management system and in the correct location.
• Complete temperature and fuel level checks on trailers.
• Uphold sanitation standards and report issues as needed.
• Coordinate with shipping/receiving and welcome center teams to ensure trailers are in correct locations and set to correct refer status.
• Demonstrate personal responsibility for and compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain yard security in accordance with company requirements.
• Verify all trailers are secured at end of shift and follow gate security guidelines.
