Job summary

Smithfield Foods is seeking a Truck Spotter to safely move trailers within the plant yard, loading docks, and designated parking areas. You will verify trailer numbers, seal numbers, and locations to ensure accurate placement and maintain safety protocols.

This role supports shipping, receiving, and transportation operations. This position requires a CDL with medical clearance, the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and strong communication with supervisors and team members

Qualifications

Must have yard truck/spotter experience or equivalent.
CDL is required with medical clearance.
High school diploma or GED required or preferred.

Responsibilities

Move trailers to and from loading docks, staging areas, and yard locations.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard tractors and equipment.
Verify trailer numbers, seal numbers, and locations for accurate placement.
Maintain communication with shipping, receiving, and transportation personnel.
Inspect trailers for damage and report issues to management.
Ensure all trailers are properly secured at docks before loading or unloading.
Follow all traffic patterns, speed limits, and safety regulations within the facility.
Maintain accurate records of trailer movements as required.
Assist with yard organization to ensure efficient trailer flow.
