Job summary

Federal Express Corporation is seeking a part-time Switcher/Package Handler in Delaware. The role involves moving trailers between yards and doors, with manual package handling tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Aptitude to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Ability to read labels and sort packages accurately.

Responsibilities

• Performs trailer switches defined as hooking and moving a parked trailer from yard to door or to the yard.
• Communicates with management/central control to coordinate trailer movements in the yard.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Understands and demonstrates yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Utilizes hand-to-surface methods for package handling; loads/unloads onto/from vehicles.
