FedEx is hiring for a yard switcher/package handler role in Utah. The position involves moving trailers between yard and doors, coupling and uncoupling trailers, and assisting with package handling. You will work in a fast-paced yard environment and perform routine safety inspections.

Part-time outbound work with a pay rate of $20.75 per hour. No education required; six months of related experience preferred. DOT file and valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) file.
• Ability to understand and follow instruction regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.

Responsabilités

• Moves trailers between yard and doors; performs hooking and moving of parked trailers.
• Communicates with management to coordinate yard trailer movements.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adheres to yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Loads and unloads packages onto/from vehicles, conveyors, and carts.
• Lifts and carries packages for part-time shifts of two to four hours.
• Sorts packages by reading labels and scanning information.
