Job summary

FedEx Group in Indianapolis, IN seeks a reliable Package Handler/Switcher to move trailers between yard doors and the dock, and to sort and handle packages efficiently. The role includes pre- and post-trip inspections, operating yard systems, and adhering to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Evening shifts are available; the position may require lifting, pushing, pulling, and prolonged standing.

Qualifications

• None required.
• No experience required; six months experience as a package handler or switching/CDL operator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers from yard to doors and vice versa.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Sort and handle packages using hand-to-surface methods when required.
• Load/unload packages onto/from vehicles, trailers, carts and conveyors.
• Maintain safety and coordinate with management in a fast-paced environment.
