Job summary

Federal Express Corporation in Greenwood, Indiana is seeking an entry‑level Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers, load and unload packages, and ensure safe yard operations.

No prior experience required; candidates must be able to lift, push, pull, and use scanners, skate wheel rollers, dock carts, and other handling equipment while maintaining teamwork and safety. This is a full‑time on‑site role with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information in order to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yard and doors per instructions.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Load and unload packages by hand and operate conveyors or carts.
• Sort packages by scanning labels and charts.
• Other duties as assigned.
