Responsibilities

• Perform trailer switches by hooking and moving trailers between yard and doors or doors to yard.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Demonstrate safe yard switching practices and procedures.
• Utilize hand-to-surface methods for package handling.
• Load and unload packages onto/from vehicles, trailers, and carts.
• Lift and move packages for two to four hour shifts.
• Sort packages by scanning, reading labels, and memorizing data.
