Job summary

NewCold is seeking a proactive Yard Supervisor in Atlanta, GA to lead the yard team, audit inventory, and manage trailer movements while upholding Health & Safety protocols across our site.

You will own the drop yard, supervise equipment upkeep, and optimize yard efficiency using NewCold’s Yard Management System. A Class A CDL, 5 years in logistics, and 2+ years of leadership are required, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL Class A license.
• Minimum 5 years in logistics or related field.
• 2+ years leadership experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Strong safety mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the yard team and supervise yard operations to ensure on-time job completion.
• Audit and manage yard inventory and scheduling.
• Audit trailers for correct placement and movements to/from dock and drop yard.
• Conduct daily yard inspections and ensure proper loading/unloading per customer standards.
• Own and maintain the drop yard and cleanliness of the yard.
• Optimize yard movement efficiency and track equipment via Yard Management System.

Your role as a Yard Supervisor

Position Overview

As a Yard Supervisor, you are the key link between operations and the drop yard. You will be responsible for managing a team of yard operators, managing/auditing the yard inventory, while maintaining and managing the material handling equipment doing minor repairs as needed. The Yard Supervisor will review and manage the Automatic Trailer shuttle activity and ensure that Health & Safety protocols are embedded at our NewCold site.

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for the proper execution of the logistics activities and the supervision of the yard site ensuring scheduled jobs are completed on time and correctly.
• Manage NewCold yard inventory and team scheduling while promoting safety.
• Audit and verify that empty and loaded trailers are in the correct spots in the yard.
• Manage/Conduct trailer movements to and from the dock to the drop yard.
• Conduct yard inspections daily ensuring that products are loaded, unloaded and stored in a timely manner according to customer performance standards.
• Own the drop yard.
• Maintain equipment and cleanliness of the yard.
• Optimize efficiency in yard movements and track equipment via NewCold’s Yard Management System.

Additional tasks:

• Control product flow for the yard management system.
• Implement remedial actions to maintain the flow of product.
• Maintain autonomous action to prevent accidents.
• Act in line with company and customer procedures ensuring quality of product is always maintained according to customer requirements.

• 5 years of work experience in related fields.
• 2 + years of leadership experience.
• Must have a valid CDL License.

Education/Certification

• High School Diploma or GED
• Associates degree in related field preferred

Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
