Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is hiring a Yard Spotter with material handler duties for our Bedford Park, IL facility. You'll shuttle trailers, load/unload, and manage inventory while following strict safety standards.

The role combines yard operations with material handling, requiring a CDL A, forklift experience, and strong attention to detail. First shift, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, with hourly pay of $31.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous yard spotter experience preferred.
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record required.
• Forklift experience is required.
• No immigration sponsorship is offered for this role.
• Previous experience in an industrial chemical environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Split daily tasks 50% yard spotter and 50% material handler.
• Operate yard trucks to shuttle trailers within the plant.
• Load and unload trailers; handle materials properly.
• Maintain inventory by cycle counts and tracking locations.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff for staging and storage.
• Perform routine trailer and yard equipment inspections.
• Keep yard and storage areas clean and organized.
• Report safety hazards or maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with picking, staging, unloading/loading carriers’ trailers.
• Participate in safety trainings and adhere to policies.

Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company, is seeking to fill a Yard Spotter role with additional material handler duties in our manufacturing facility located in Bedford Park, IL. You'll play a key role by being responsible for shuttling trailers around the plant premises and assisting with material handling tasks, including storage, picking, staging, and inventory management. This is a hands‑on opportunity to grow your skills in a fast‑paced setting while contributing to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

• Split daily tasks between 50% spotter duties and 50% material handler duties, depending on business needs.


• Safely maneuver yard trucks to shuttle trailers to and from designated areas within the plant.


• Loading and unloading trailers, ensuring proper handling of materials.


• Maintain accurate inventory management by performing cycle counts, tracking the location and status of trailers and manufactured materials.


• Collaborate with warehouse staff to stage and store materials from production and shipping as needed.


• Conduct routine inspections of trailers and yard equipment to ensure operational safety.


• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and material storage areas.


• Report any safety hazards or maintenance issues to management promptly.


• Picking, staging, unloading/loading common carrier’s trailers.


• Participate in training sessions and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Position Details

• Plant location: Bedford Park, IL (Clearing) 6216 W 66th Place


• Work week and shift: 1st shift Monday - Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, some flexibility required


• Compensation: $31.00 per hour

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent


• Previous experience as a yard spotter


• Valid Class A CDL driver's license with a clean driving record


• Forklift experience


• No immigration sponsorship is offered for this role

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role in an industrial chemical environment


• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.


• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


• Excellent communication skills.

Annual Or Hourly Compensation Range

The pay rate for this role is $31.00 per hour. Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation, such as experience, education, training, geography, etc. We comply with all minimum wage and overtime laws.
