Job summary

Warren CAT is seeking a Yard Specialist I to maintain the yard, prepare and inspect rental tools, and assist service, parts, and rental teams. You will greet customers, manage loading/unloading, and ensure gear is rental-ready with proper tagging and labeling.

The role requires a proactive attitude, strong organization, and the ability to work overtime or on weekends as needed. High school diploma or GED and 0–3 months related experience are acceptable; safety and quality are emphasized in daily

Responsibilities

• Prepare tools for shipment to other stores and dealers.

• Greet customers, direct them to offices or unloading areas.
• Assist delivery drivers with loading/unloading tools.
• Wash or perform light maintenance on tools/equipment.
• Inspect equipment before rental to verify inventory ID, fuel, and readiness.
• Install service tags on equipment returned from rental.
• Move rental-ready equipment to storage following maintenance procedures.

The Yard Specialist I is responsible for general maintenance and logistics of the Yard, as well as supporting the Rental, Parts, and Service Departments as needed.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Prepare tools for shipment to other stores and dealers.
• Properly dispose (check-in) all tools that are received for factory, vendors, and other locations.
• Assemble and disassemble work tools as required and ensure proper labeling of all tools.
• Maintain good order and cleanliness of the yard.
• Assist Rental, Parts, and Service Departments when instructed to do so.
• Greets customers in yard, helping direct them to office or unloading areas.
• Assists delivery drivers in loading and unloading work tools.
• Will be involved in washing and/or performing light maintenance on work tools.
• Has good working knowledge of all work tools.
• Makes final inspection of equipment before customer receives it, verifying inventory ID number, fuel level, and “rental ready” condition.
• Verifies fuel consumed and inspects all “detail” of equipment when returned.
• Installs “service tags” on equipment returned from rental.
• Moves “rental ready” equipment back to proper storage areas following routine maintenance procedures by service shop.
• Greets customers in yard, helping direct them to office or unloading areas.
• Assists customers and delivery drivers in loading and unloading rental equipment.
• Gives customers start/stop and general operating instructions on rental equipment.
• Will be involved in washing and/or performing light maintenance on rental equipment.

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training.
