Job summary

Hirschbach is seeking a Yard Specialist to inspect equipment, coordinate repairs, and maintain an organized yard for our Indy Shop. The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance, safety, and readiness of tractors and trailers for road operations.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in transportation or fleet maintenance, with a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds. CDL Class A or DL is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of experience in the transportation, fleet maintenance, or related industry OR equivalent military experience.
• Valid driver's license, CDL A preferred.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the role.
• Skills and certifications help - but a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn go a long way with us.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine yard inspections to identify damaged or inoperable tractors and trailers.
• Create repair orders and document repair estimates for equipment requiring maintenance.
• Coordinate with external vendors by submitting repair requests for work outside the scope of the shop.
• Perform minor repairs, including replacing tires, lights, mud flaps, and other basic maintenance items.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient yard by ensuring equipment is properly positioned and parked.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do
