Job summary

Hirschbach is seeking a Yard Specialist in Indianapolis to inspect equipment, document repair estimates, and coordinate yard operations from our Indy Shop. You will help keep tractors and trailers ready for the road and support fleet maintenance efforts.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years in transportation or fleet maintenance, with a valid driver’s license; CDL A is preferred. This on-site role involves physical activity and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in the transportation, fleet maintenance, or related industry (or equivalent military experience).
• Valid driver’s license; CDL A preferred.
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine yard inspections to identify damaged or inoperable tractors and trailers.
• Create repair orders and document repair estimates for equipment needing maintenance.
• Coordinate with external vendors by submitting repair requests for work outside the shop scope.
• Perform minor repairs, including replacing tires, lights, mud flaps, and other basic maintenance items.
• Maintain a safe, organized yard and ensure equipment is properly positioned and parked.

What You'll Do

As a Yard Specialist, you'll:

What We're Looking For

Required
