Job summary

Hirschbach is seeking Trailer Technicians for the Joliet, IL shop to diagnose and repair trailer and Class 8 equipment. Expect preventative maintenance, accurate record-keeping, and welding/fabrication tasks as needed in a fast-paced environment.

Qualified candidates have 2+ years in fleet maintenance, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs. Competitive pay up to $38/hr with benefits and relocation assistance where applicable.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fleet maintenance experience.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing Class 8 equipment.
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and repair tools.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair trailer and Class 8 equipment issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs.
• Record parts, materials, and repairs details using company systems.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Be Doing

• Diagnose and repair trailer and Class 8 equipment issues
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs
• Identify and properly classify repairs, including:
• Preventative maintenance
• Component failure
• Brake components
• Dolly legs
• Panel and other related repairs (radius, nose, etc)
• Doors and related hardware
• Record parts, materials, and repairs details using company systems
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs as needed
• Other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 2+ years of fleet maintenance experience
• Experience of diagnosing and repairing Class 8 equipment
• Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
• Familiarity with diagnostic software and computer-based repair tools
• Not required! Training will be provided as needed
• Valid driver’s license required
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks
