Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Perform various duties on a crew to assist in stockpiling and loading panels/products in the yard and on trailers for shipment to project jobsites. Carry and lift materials, rigging, for stockpiling panels/products and loading products to be shipped to project jobsites.

Salary range: $25-$27/hr. Based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Climb up and down trailers and stockpiles of material
• Carry materials such as blocking for stockpiling and rigging to handle products
• Work with load chains, tie-down belts, and load binders to secure products to trailers
• Operate propane burners for snow/ice removal from surfaces on trailers and products
• Operate forklifts (training provided if needed)
• Work with cranes, rigging, and hand signals for crane operations

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to read load lists and handling instructions; communicate effectively with crew
• Authorized forklift operator or ability to learn
• Experience with yard cranes, rigging, and hand signals
• Ability to climb forms and trailer decks
• Basic math skills; ability to read tape measures and blueprints

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
• Push, pull, lift, bend, climb, kneel, twist, squat, crawl, and use hands/forearms frequently
• Work for up to 12 hours/day
• Work from ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts at heights

WORKING CONDITIONS

Moderate to high risk of exposure to elements and safety hazards. Conditions may include wet, hot, humid, or wintry weather. Ability to work outdoors year-round is required.
