Job summary

Port Houston in Bayport Admin is seeking a Yard Planner to optimize yard operations, vessel loading/unloading, and cargo flow across container and breakbulk terminals. You will build and maintain terminal allocations to meet industry demand and forecast cargo to optimize yard space according to vessel stowage needs.

Key duties include leading yard planning, coordinating crane operators and stevedores, and ensuring accurate load-out of containers while managing truck movements and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Administration or Business Administration, or related field.
• Equivalently, 5+ years of directly related experience in a similar role.
• 1+ years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead yard planning efforts for operations.
• Coordinate crane operators to expedite container loading/unloading.
• Work with stevedores to improve yard stowage strategies.
• Coordinate truck movements to maintain efficient port traffic flow.
• Segregate hazardous cargo per US Coast Guard standards.
• Ensure correct empty equipment is loaded and tracked.
• Monitor exports, imports, and empty allocations for container terminals.
• Assist with inter-terminal yard moves and pad management.
• Communicate vessel service plans and coordinate with vessel ops teams.
