Job summary

Maverick Transportation, LLC in Arkansas seeks a Yard Manager to lead a small team, supervise yard operations, move trailers, and ensure safety and efficiency.

You will coordinate daily staffing, communicate with management and customers, enforce safety standards, and maintain inventory and equipment readiness.

Qualifications

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

Yard Manager will operate in, and manage, a team of employees providing yard services to a customer. Services to include up to operating a yard tractor, moving empty & loaded trailers, securing and tarping freight, operating heavy equipment, managing inventory, shuttling trailers, and other duties as assigned.

Yard manager is responsible for managing employee safety standards, employees work schedules, work performance of his/her assigned employees, providing performance feedback, and upholding the safety and operational standards of the company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment
2. Direct daily yard operations including the movement, spotting, staging, and positioning of equipment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Highschool education or equivalent plus 1 - 2 years related experience and/or training and 0 - 12 months previous management experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Warehouse environment where continuously exposed to several elements such as, noise, intermittent standing, walking; and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting. Also, may have exposure at times to the outside weather elements.
