Job summary

Blackrock Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Yard Hostler to safely move trailers and containers within the yard, connect and disconnect trailers, and position units at docks to support loading and unloading schedules.

This is a 1st shift role: 3:00 am - 3:00 pm, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday. This role is outdoors in varying weather, involves lifting up to 50 lbs, and requires a valid California driver's license, one year of yard hostler experience, and a commitment to Cal/OSHA

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Valid California driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
1 year of yard hostler/spotter truck experience or similar.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and rotate shifts.
Lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a yard hostler/spotter truck to move trailers and containers between dock doors, staging areas, and yard parking spots.
Connect and disconnect trailers, including air lines, electrical lines, and landing gear.
Spot trailers at assigned dock doors to support loading/unloading schedules.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the yard truck and report issues.
