Job summary

Blackrock Logistics, Inc. in Rancho Cordova, CA, seeks a Yard Coordinator to safely move, spot, and stage trailers with a yard truck, ensuring inbound and outbound freight stays on schedule.

You will coordinate with dock, warehouse, and transportation teams, maintain accurate yard records, perform pre/post-trip checks, and enforce DOT/Cal/OSHA safety standards. This full-time role requires 1+ year experience and a CA license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum 1 year experience operating a hostler/yard truck in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Ability to safely couple/uncouple trailers (landing gear, air lines, electrical).
• Basic computer skills to operate a yard management system or handheld devices.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather and in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet physical demands.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate a hostler to move, spot, and stage trailers safely and on schedule.
• Coordinate trailer movements with dock, warehouse, and transportation teams.
• Connect and disconnect trailers, including landing gear, air lines, and electrical connections.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the yard truck and report issues.
• Track trailer numbers, locations, and status using YMS or logs.
• Conduct yard checks and audits to verify locations and keep the yard organized.
• Inspect trailers for damage and documentation upon arrival/departure.
• Communicate yard status, priorities, and delays to supervisors and dock staff.
• Assist with gate check-in/out of drivers and trailers as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe yard and report hazards or maintenance needs.
• Follow DOT and Cal/OSHA safety policies.
