Job summary

Farmer Focus seeks a Yard Driver/Jockey to safely move trailers, containers, and trucks within our yard and shipping areas. The role involves operating trucks and a forklift, ensuring logs are kept, and daily equipment checks in a compliance-heavy environment.

The position requires a current Class A Virginia CDL, a clean MVR, and the ability to perform outdoor labor in diverse weather. This on-site, in-person role works 2nd shift across our two plants and may travel between locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Class A Virginia CDL.
• MVR +5 requirement.
• Ability to complete required CDL background application.
• Ability to perform general labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely drive trucks, trailers, and containers around yard and assigned areas.
• Ability to maintain logs and records as required by law and company policy.

Responsibilities

• Drive trucks around the yard to switch empty and full containers between shipping areas and trailer parking areas.
• Move trailers safely and efficiently to support shipping, receiving, production, and logistics needs.
• Drive trailers requiring maintenance or service to third-party repair providers.
• Implement extreme weather countermeasures on live poultry equipment.
• Perform daily housekeeping of assigned trailers and tractors.
• Operate a forklift when necessary and authorized.
• Maintain all logs and records as required by law and company policy.
• Ensure equipment is in safe operating condition and meets DOT/OSHA standards.
• Follow safety, health, and environmental procedures and practices.
• Establish cooperative working relationships with team members, supervisors, vendors, and others contacted during work assignments.
• Perform general labor outdoors and in varying weather conditions as needed.
• Perform physical labor including climbing ladders, lifting, carrying boxes and tools.
