Job summary

UFP Industries, Inc. is seeking a Jockey Truck Driver to organize trailers on-site using the Yard Jockey truck and potentially operate a forklift for loading and unloading.

Candidates should have at least 6 months of yard jockey or commercial vehicle experience, basic vehicle maintenance knowledge, and be able to pass a forklift licensing process within 4 months of hire. CDL is not required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• 12th-grade basic education completed.
• 6+ months of experience driving a commercial vehicle or yard jockey truck.
• Working knowledge of vehicle parts and minor repairs to keep equipment in operating condition.
• Successful completion of forklift driver licensing process within 4 months of hire.
• CDL license is not a requirement for this position.
• Ability to pass a driving test/skills evaluation in a yard jockey truck.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives in the facility, staging loads in various weather conditions.
• Completes daily equipment inspection sheets.
• Loads and unloads trucks as needed to assist with production.
• Inspects equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Secures load and inspects load to ensure proper securing.
• Maintains shipping documents as required.
• May operate a forklift to load/unload trailers as required.
• Follows forklift rules and policies per Company policy.
• Maintains radio contact with base or supervisor for instructions on trailers/loads.
• Completes paperwork as required.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Participates in safety programs and meetings.
