Job summary

Pennex in Greenville, PA is hiring a Yard Helper to assist in loading/unloading metals, maintaining records and supporting yard operations. The role requires forklift experience, a high school diploma, and physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; pre-employment checks apply.

Shift work includes a transition to night shifts after training, with a $1.50/hour night differential. This on-site position offers growth within a growing aluminum cast products company servicing multiple markets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; several years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift experience required.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Keeps a record of materials received and used.
• Inspects incoming materials and verifies bills of lading and pack slips.
• Uses forklift, loads log and billet onto trailers and unloads prime, dealer scrap and other materials received from outside suppliers.
• Establishes or adjusts work activities to meet production schedules.
• Assists and performs the task involved in dumping trailers loaded with scrap.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
