Job summary

Leesel Transportation Corp. in the New York City area is hiring a yard operations role to manage bus movements, ensure pre-trip inspections are completed, and coordinate with fleet and shop staff. The position demands outdoor work in all weather, wearing a uniform and safety gear.

The role involves pulling buses in and out of the yard, organizing out-of-service vehicles, and maintaining keys with professional communication in the yard and beyond, supporting NYC DOE routes and related programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma.
• CDL carrier preferable, endorsements optional.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Outdoor work environment.
• Noisy and dusty conditions & Snow Removal.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Mini School buses leave the year in a prearranged pattern.
• Earlier routes to exit first, then consequently.
• Must check that drivers are completing their pre-trip inspection, and DVIR.
• Start the fleet earlier during the winter months, ensure all buses returning must to the yard during the evenings have a full gas tank or close to.
• Report and follow issues safety concerns.
• This individual will be pulling buses in and out of the yard onto Webster Avenue.
• With the assistance of Fleet create designated areas for, 'out of service vehicles', and others.
• Ensure Bus keys are sorted and safely kept.
• Must wear uniform, and identifiable gear. (Reflective vest, Steel toe shoe,).
• This individual must always maintain proper communication & professionalism in the yard and outside the yard as he/she will always interact with bus drivers/attendants.
• Will work closely with the Fleet & the Shop.

Flexible hours, split shift 4:00-8:00 AM & 3:00-7:00 PM.

Hourly Compensation: $21.00 per hour.
