Job summary

Elevate Human Capital is seeking a Yard Hand in the Houston area to support daily yard operations, material handling, inventory organization, and product storage in coordination with forklift operators.

The role requires ability to work 6am-6pm, Monday through Saturday, and to be available to work 7 days a week if needed. Prior experience not required; entry-level candidates encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Trade school training is a plus.
  • Basic reading and writing skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general yard maintenance, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining work areas.
  • Assist forklift operators with movement and storage of materials.
  • Operate a small forklift as trained and authorized.
  • Assist with stacking pipe racks and securing products for safe storage and transportation.
  • Support shipping and receiving with packaging and material prep.
  • Tally and verify threaded tubing before storage.
  • Follow PPE and safety procedures.

Job description

EHC is seeking a Yard Hand for a Client in the Houston Area.

Shift-6am-6pm Monday-Saturday

Must be able to work 7 days a week if needed

Pay-$16.50

Position Summary

The Yard Hand supports daily yard operations by assisting with material handling, inventory organization, and product storage activities. This role works closely with forklift operators and other team members to ensure products are safely moved, stored, prepared, and maintained according to company quality and safety standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform general yard maintenance, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining work areas.

  • Assist forklift operators with the movement and storage of materials and products.

  • Operate a small forklift as required and when properly trained and authorized.

  • Assist with stacking pipe racks and securing products for safe storage and transportation.

  • Support bucking line operations by:

  • Drifting tubing

  • Applying thread preservatives

  • Installing thread protectors

  • Assist Shipping and Receiving personnel with packaging and material preparation when needed.

  • Tally and verify all threaded tubing before it is placed into storage.

  • Comply with all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safety procedures.

  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and safety briefings.

  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and programs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Tools, Equipment, and Machinery
  • Utilize applicable inspection, measuring, and testing equipment as required by established work instructions and procedures.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment as authorized and trained.
Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Trade school training is a plus.
  • Candidates must possess basic reading and writing skills.
Experience
  • No prior experience required.
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to work safely in an industrial yard environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform required job duties successfully within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Training Requirements

Successful candidates will complete company-provided training, including:

  • Safety orientation and training programs.
  • Quality system orientation.
  • Required management system and procedural training.
  • Training on applicable work instructions, operational procedures, and industry standards.
  • Position-specific competency training as outlined in the company training matrix.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in a safe manner.
