EHC is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk for a Client in the Houston Area.
Schedule 7:00am-7:00pm Monday through Saturday (Must be able to work 7 days a week if needed)
Pay Rate $17.00
Primary Function
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing shipping documentation, coordinating outbound shipments, maintaining shipping records, and supporting operational activities related to the timely delivery of products to customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive completed job travelers for outgoing parts and process incoming customer releases.
- Match finished products to internal documentation, including job travelers, purchase orders, work orders, and related records.
- Verify that all required production and quality steps have been completed, and confirm shipment quantities and details.
- Scan and file all signed shipping documents electronically.
- Coordinate and schedule shipments through motor freight carriers, hot shot services, and other transportation providers as required.
- Check out drivers and provide all shipping documentation required for customer deliveries.
- Upload shipping documentation to customer portals and/or email customers shipment details, including weights and dimensions.
- Communicate outbound shipment status and related information to Sales and Operations teams.
- Forward completed shipping documentation to Accounts Receivable for invoicing purposes.
- Perform purchasing activities for critical and non-critical materials, products, and outsourced services.
- Issue purchase orders for service calls and yard equipment; notify appropriate personnel of incoming packages.
- Maintain the shipping window and ensure driver sign-in records are accurately completed.
- Answer incoming calls for the Shipping Department and coordinate full-load shipments with trucking companies.
- Collaborate with trucking companies, Quality, Yard Operations, and other departments to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Assist the Yard Supervisor with manual tally entry into spreadsheets, issue loading authorizations, and maintain dump tally records.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide support as needed.
- Follow all established safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Tools, Equipment, and Machinery
- Operate standard office equipment, business machines, and manufacturing-related systems necessary to support shipping and operational activities.
- Utilize computer software, spreadsheets, and shipping systems to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Trade school training is a plus.
- Must possess basic reading and writing skills.
Experience
- Minimum of one (1) year of industry-related experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to accurately process shipping and purchasing documentation.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data entry systems.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, carriers, and internal departments.
