Job summary

Centuri is seeking a dependable Yard Hand to support daily yard and warehouse operations. You will load/unload pipe and materials, organize inventory, and help prepare orders in a fast-paced construction environment.

The role requires ability to read documents, operate a computer, and communicate clearly, with emphasis on safety and accuracy. A high school diploma is required, and willingness to work varying shifts in a warehouse setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform general yard hand duties to support daily warehouse, shop, and field operations.

• Prepare and verify orders to ensure correct materials and quantities are staged and loaded.
• Maintain clean, organized, and debris-free warehouse, shop, and yard areas.
• Receive, inspect, label, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products.
• Process requisitions, work orders, and requests for materials, tools, and inventory items.

As a Yard Hand you will support daily yard and warehouse operations by safely loading and unloading pipe, organizing materials, preparing orders, maintaining inventory, and keeping work areas clean and safe. You will report to the Warehouse Manager.

What You’ll Do

• Perform general yard hand duties to support daily warehouse, shop, and field operations.
• Safely load and unload pipe, materials, tools, and equipment using appropriate equipment and procedures.
• Inspect, stage, organize, and secure pipe for storage, transportation, and distribution.
• Prepare and verify orders to ensure the correct materials and quantities are staged and loaded.
• Maintain clean, organized, and debris-free warehouse, shop, and yard areas.
• Receive, inspect, label, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products.
• Process requisitions, work orders, and requests for materials, tools, and inventory items.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using the company’s computerized tracking system.
• Complete routine local pickups and deliveries of supplies and materials using company vehicles.
• Operate assigned trucks, trailers, and material‑handling equipment in accordance with training and safety requirements.
• Follow all safety procedures when handling, loading, unloading, storing, and transporting pipe and other materials.
• Perform additional responsibilities as requested by leadership.

What You’ll Have

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a typical warehouse environment and an outdoor construction yard
• Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late when necessary with little or no notice
• Must be able to read documents, use a computer, communicate verbally and in writing
• Mobility required within an office, warehouse and construction site environments
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 80 pounds
• Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Legal Stuff

• Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
• Provide valid US work authorization documents for E-Verify
• Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check results
• Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
• Pre-employment medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
