Job summary

Centuri Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to maintain the outdoor shop and yard, handle inventory tasks, and support field operations. You will manage materials, tools, and records while coordinating with the Warehouse Manager to ensure efficient workflows.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and the ability to lift up to 80 pounds, with the opportunity for growth within a dynamic construction environment in Waterbury, CT.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with inventory counting and tracking methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Keep outdoor shop and yard clean, organized and debris-free.
• Assist with yard operations: loading pipe, assembling orders, cleaning, stocking, repairs.
• Receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment and products.
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials and stock items.
• Assemble, mark, open and count stock items.
• Operate local vehicle to transport supplies and materials.
• Operate multiple truck types and equipment as needed.
• Use computer record-keeping to track inventory and small tools.
• Maintain filing system for warehouse functions.

Our projects rely on having the right materials at the right times in order to make construction projects successful. A well maintained shop and warehouse is the key to making that happen. As a Warehouse Assistant you are responsible for making sure the shop and/or warehouse is well maintained and provides manual labor for all warehouse functions. You will report to the Warehouse Manager.

What You'll Do

• Ensure the outdoor shop and yard areas are kept clean, organized, and free of debris
• Assist with yard operations including the loading of pipe, assembling orders, general cleaning, organization, stocking, and repairs
• Receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products
• Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items
• Assemble, mark, open, and count various stock items
• Drive a vehicle (generally one ton or less) within the local area to transport passengers and make routine pickup/delivery of supplies and materials
• Operate several types of power motor vehicles including but not limited to: Single Axle & Tandem Axle Truck Tractors, Medium Duty, Single Axle Dump Trucks & Flatbed Crew Trucks, Semi-Tailors, Flatbed, End Dump, Lowboys, and Equipment Tailors
• Utilize computer record keeping system to track and monitor inventory, small tools, and equipment
• Maintain file system for all warehouse functions
• Perform other responsibilitiesas requested by leadership
