Job summary

Blackrock Logistics Inc. is seeking a Yard Coordinator for the 2nd shift (4:00 pm–4:00 am) in Rancho Cordova, CA.

You will safely move, spot, and stage trailers with a hostler, coordinate with dock and transportation teams, and maintain accurate yard records to keep freight flowing on schedule. The role requires experience operating yard equipment, a valid California license, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather while complying with DOT and Cal/OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum of one year operating hostler/yard truck in logistics environment.
• Ability to safely couple/uncouple trailers and connect lines.
• Basic computer/handheld-device skills to operate YMS or scanner.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate a hostler to move, spot, and stage trailers safely and on schedule.
• Coordinate trailer movements with dock, warehouse, and transportation teams.
• Connect and disconnect trailers, including landing gear, air lines, and electrical connections.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the yard truck and report issues.
• Track trailer numbers, locations, and status using a YMS or logs.
• Maintain yard organization and conduct regular checks for accuracy.
