Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling seeks an experienced Equipment Operator to run track loaders, wheel loaders, excavators and grinders for land clearing and mulch production in Humble, TX. You will ensure safe, professional operation at all times and perform routine inspections and paperwork as required.

This full-time position demands the ability to work up to 60 hours weekly, lift up to 50 lbs, and work outdoors in all weather. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Willing to work up to ~60 hours per week including Saturdays.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to sit, stand, and kneel for long periods and walk for short distances.
• Able to climb into and out of equipment multiple times per day with 3 points of contact.
• Able to use hand and arm controls to operate equipment inside and outside.
• Able to bend, stoop, and crawl to inspect equipment and perform cleaning.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good vision and hearing to operate equipment safely.
• Must be able to identify blind spots and adjust position accordingly.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre/post service inspections on equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment on job sites or yards.
• Complete daily service: clean radiator/filters and cab interior.
• Submit daily inspections, work orders, and loader logs.
• Report accidents or injuries promptly.
• Follow standard operating procedures and processes.
• Wear PPE at all times (safety toe shoes, vest, hard hat, gloves).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Brief

We are looking for an experienced Equipment Operator to operate track loaders, wheel loaders, excavators, and grinders used in land clearing and mulch production. This role requires safe, professional equipment operation at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre/post service inspections on equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment as directed while on job locations or in company yards.
• Complete daily service on equipment to include cleaning radiator/filters, cleaning equipment cab interior.
• Complete all necessary paperwork and submit daily (inspections reports, work orders, loader logs, etc.).
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and processes.
• Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required to be worn at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves).
• Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Qualifications & Physical Requirements

• Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed)
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, if applicable.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Must be able to sit, stand, and kneel for long periods of time and walk for short periods.
• Must be able to climb into and out of equipment several times per day using 3 points of contact.
• Must be able to use hand and arms to steer and to operate finger controls and adjust controls as needed inside and outside of equipment.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and crawl to perform full inspection of the equipment and clean equipment.
• Must be able to work outside for periods of time in all weather.
• Must be able to see and hear proficiently to operate a motor vehicle and equipment in a safe manner.
• Must be able to frequently use arms overhead for multiple job functions to include cleaning equipment and tossing ropes or tie down straps using an overhead motion.
• Must be able to pull a rope with up to 40lbs of resistance using arms only.
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment (tolerate various types of work dust).
• Must perform “look around” and be able to twist the upper body to look far right/left and behind when moving equipment (check for blind spots)
