Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling is hiring a General Laborer to support yard production and grinding operations in Texas. You will perform general clean-up tasks, operate heavy equipment with training, and help maintain a safe, efficient job site.

Ideal candidates will be able to handle physically demanding work, lift up to 70 lbs, and work extended hours including weekends. Bilingual abilities are a plus, and a drug screen is required.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work +/- 60 hours per week, including Saturdays.
• Bilingual abilities preferred for communication with diverse teams.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs frequently.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions.
• Able to bend, stoop, and climb stairs or ladders as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up duties within yard production or grinding sites.
• Safely operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors and mowers; training provided.
• Conduct basic equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Follow standard operating procedures for general clean-up duties.
• Wear required safety gear at all times.
• Take on additional duties as assigned by management.

Job Brief

We are looking for a General Laborer to join our growing team. General Laborers are assigned to “general clean-up” duties within the production and grinding operations. We expect general laborers to perform general clean-up tasks in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeaner when engaging with customers and coworkers.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up duties within the yard production area and/or grinding field sites.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, lawn mowers, and weed-eaters (training provided if needed)
• Conduct basic equipment inspections, and report maintenance needs
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and processes related to general clean-up duties within the production and job-site area.
• Safety gear is required and expected to be always worn (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves)
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.

• Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed)
• Skidsteer, tractor and mower experience preferred.
• Bilingual is preferred
• Must pass a drug screen
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs frequently and involving repetitive motion
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk for short periods
• Must be able to bend and stoop throughout the workday (lifting debris, using shovels, etc.)
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders
• Must be able to work in outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust and noise.
• Must be able to travel to different job locations
