Job summary

Austin Wood Recycling Inc in Hutto, TX is seeking a General Laborer to support yard production and grinding operations. You will perform general clean-up duties, operate skid steers, tractors, mowers, and weed-eaters, and follow safety procedures.

The role requires the ability to work up to 60 hours per week, overtime on Saturdays, and the physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Bilingual is preferred; drug screen required; outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Skidsteer, tractor and mower experience preferred
• Bilingual is preferred
• Must pass a drug screen
• Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and stand for long periods

Responsibilities

• Perform general clean-up duties within the yard production area and/or grinding field sites
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment such as skid steers, tractors, lawn mowers, and weed-eaters (training provided if needed)
• Conduct basic equipment inspections, and report maintenance needs
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity
• Follow all standard operating procedures and processes related to general clean-up duties within the production and job-site area
• Safety gear is required and expected to be always worn (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves)
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by management.

Job Brief

We are looking for a General Laborer to join our growing team. General Laborers are assigned to “general clean-up” duties within the production and grinding operations. We expect general laborers to perform general clean-up tasks in a safe and professional manner and to maintain a professional demeaner when engaging with customers and coworkers.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week to include Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed)
• Skidsteer, tractor and mower experience preferred.
• Bilingual is preferred
• Must pass a drug screen
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs frequently and involving repetitive motion
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and walk for short periods
• Must be able to bend and stoop throughout the workday (lifting debris, using shovels, etc.)
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs and ladders
• Must be able to work in outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust and noise.
• Must be able to travel to different job locations
