Job summary

PFG Customized is hiring a Yard Driver, Non-CDL in California. The role involves moving tractor trailers on company property, docking operations, and ensuring safe handling of equipment while providing reliable service to customers.

You will work loading docks and designated parking areas, comply with DOT regulations, and support maintenance or inspections as needed. This position requires physical effort and weekend availability.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
• 6+ months driving experience; internal candidates may be promoted with less.
• Must be able to work Sundays.
• Valid non-commercial driver's license; meet state licensing requirements.
• Clean MVR for past 3 years; pass drug test and background check; pass road test.
• Able to lift and move freight up to 90 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company policies.
• Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers at docks.
• Transports tractors to offsite maintenance or inspection facilities; local city driving.
• Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment; completes required documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Purpose

Food and food service delivery Drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers' products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, but they are the face of our company - building lasting relationships with our customers! As a Yard Driver, Non-CDL, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting tractor trailers on Operating Company property, including loading docks and designated parking areas, and to offsite maintenance or inspection facilities.

The Yard Driver, Non-CDL is responsible for moving tractor trailers to/from the loading docks and parking loaded or empty trailers in designated areas in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

• Performs inspections and moves trailers safely following all DOT regulations and company safe-driving policies.
• Fuels, moves, and parks tractors and trailers to the docks.
• Transports tractor trailers to offsite maintenance and/or inspection facilities; requires local city driving.
• Secures trucks, trailers, and equipment always. Completes all required documentation.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
• 6+ months driving experience Internal candidates may be promoted with less than 6 months experience with good performance record in accordance with driver training program requirements.
• Must be able to work the scheduled, assigned times and required overtime for the position. Must be able to work EVERY Sunday.
• Valid non-commercial driver's license
• Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable)
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
• Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
• Pass road test
• Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift; product generally ranges from between 10-35 pounds and up to between approximately 60 and 90 pounds, depending on the location
• Must be able to work Sundays 8am, Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays 10am. Off on Tuesday and Wednesday.
