Harbor Freight Tools is seeking a Yard Driver to operate yard trucks within our distribution center. The role involves shuttling trailers between docks, verifying trailer placement, and supporting loading and unloading to maintain smooth freight flow.

You will work in a team, follow safety policies, perform pre/post operation checks, and report issues promptly to keep the yard organized and efficient.

Job description

The Yard Driver operates yard trucks to shuttle trailers between designated locations and verifies trailer placement. This position will support the overall flow of freight by maintaining an organized yard, following safety protocols, and ensuring trailers are ready for loading, unloading, and Over the Road driver pickup.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Drive trailers to and from receiving/shipping docks inside the yard
• Work closely in a team environment to complete daily tasks and goals to include third party vendors
• Adherence to all company policies to include all safety rules
• Hooking and unhooking airlines to trailers
• Pre and Post Operation Audits
• Following instructions provided by two-way radio
• Reporting safety and mechanical issues promptly and accurately according to the standard operating procedure
• Support other departments of the Distribution Center as business requires
• Follow OSHA Regulations and all safety requirements
• Additional duties as assigned by manager

The anticipated rate for this position is $23.50 per hour depending on location, knowledge, skills, education and experience.
