Job summary

Performance Team is hiring a Yard Driver in the United States, offering $25.00 per hour. You will operate yard trucks, hostlers, and other equipment, moving trailers and ensuring safe yard operations.

Schedule: Tue-Sat PM. You must meet safety and DOT requirements, communicate with dispatch, and maintain accurate records. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and reliability in a fast-paced yard environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; CDL may be required.
• Experience operating yard tractors, hostlers, trailers, or similar equipment.
• Safely maneuver equipment in confined spaces and active yard environments.
• Ability to document trailer movements and yard activity.
• Strong communication with dispatch, warehouse, and transportation teams.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Overtime and flexible schedules may be required.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate yard trucks, hostlers, tractors, and other assigned equipment.
• Move trailers between parking areas, loading docks, staging areas, and maintenance locations.
• Connect and disconnect trailers in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned equipment.
• Accurately position trailers at assigned dock doors and staging locations.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements, yard activity, and equipment status.
• Communicate with dispatch, warehouse personnel, drivers, and leadership regarding trailer locations, priorities, and operating conditions.
• Maintain an organized, secure, and safe yard.
• Follow company safety procedures, yard traffic rules, and applicable DOT requirements.
• Immediately report vehicle, trailer, equipment, cargo, or facility damage.
• Monitor trailer and equipment conditions and report maintenance needs.
• Assist with yard checks and trailer inventory when required.
• Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
• Maintain a clean and professional work environment

Physical Requirement

This position requires frequent entering and exiting of vehicles and trailers, standing, walking, climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting throughout the workday. Employees must be able to connect and disconnect trailers, perform equipment inspections, and lift up to 50 lbs. while performing yard-related activities.

Safety Expectation

Employees are expected to comply with all company safety policies, applicable DOT requirements, OSHA standards, TSA requirements where applicable, and customer‑site safety rules. Employees must immediately report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, equipment damage, cargo damage, and regulatory concerns.

*The above stated pay is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location.
