Job summary

Shearer’s Foods, Inc. in Ohio seeks a Yard Driver to unload products, move trailers, and ensure accurate loads while delivering customer service at the loading dock. This role requires a valid CDL-A, forklift experience, and a proven safe driving record.

Manual transmission experience is preferred, with shifts in the afternoon or overnight hours. Qualified candidates must be 21+, able to lift up to 80 lbs, and comfortable working outdoors in various weather.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• CDL Class A with endorsements and DOT qualifications.
• Experience operating forklifts and hand lifts.
• Minimum six months commercial driving experience (or three months in food/beverage delivery).
• Proven safe driving record.
• Manual transmission experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload products from trailers using a two-wheeler, pallet jack, forklift or by hand.
• Move trailers between storage locations and the manufacturing facility using jockey trucks.
• Verify accuracy of truck loads and obtain proper signatures.
• Provide professional customer service to enhance client experience.
• Lift/carry/push/pull 20–80+ lbs of product repeatedly.
• Drive in varying weather and conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift).

Responsibilities

YARD DRIVER

• Afternoons 230pm to 11pm- $28.00 hourly rate
• Midnights 1030pm to 7am- $29.00 hourly rate
• Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, forklift or by hand and place in designated storage areas
• Utilize jockey trucks to move trailers between storage locations and manufacturing facility
• Verify accuracy of truck loads and obtain proper signatures
• Professionally perform customer service responsibilities to enhance our client experience
• Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs. of product repetitively during each shift required
• Comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops (10+ per shift) required

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have valid CDL Class A issued by the state of legal residence with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications
• Experience driving and operating forklifts and hand lifts
• Minimum of six months commercial driving experience or three months commercial driving experience in the food and/or beverage delivery industry required
• Proven safe driving record
• Ability to operate manual transmission preferred

Pay Range
