Job summary

DSV is seeking a Yard Driver in Edwardsville, IL to join our solutions division. You will operate Class A tractors, perform loading/unloading, and maintain the storage yard to support efficient service.

The role requires a valid Class A CDL, at least 2 years of tractor-trailer experience in the past 4 years, a clean driving record, and a current DOT medical certificate. You must pass onboarding road and backing tests and coordinate with warehouse staff daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of verified tractor-trailer experience within the past 4 years.

• Must meet DOT physical requirements and maintain valid medical certificate.
• Must pass road and backing test during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the customer needs.
• Account for records involving trailer numbers and position of vehicles.
• Interact daily with warehouse supervisors and comply with warehouse safety requirements.
• Communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with operations and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions following signals from loading crew; place safety wheel chocks as needed.
• Proper use of Airline/Electrical hookup and Backing procedures.
• Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment daily.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard.

Driver Requirements

Responsibilities/Duties

• Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the customer needs.
• Responsible for accounting for records involving trailer numbers and position of vehicles.
• Must function and interact on a daily basis with warehouse supervisors and comply with warehouse safety requirements.
• Must communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with operations, and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
• Must maneuver trucks into loading and unloading position, following signal from loading crew as needed. Also place safety wheel chocks in front of wheel/tire to prevent the trailer from rolling. If pup trailer movement is involved; extra care must be taken on the placement of the trailer jack stand (when at dock, jack stand must be on the ground and in a locked position). If there is not a jack stand installed on the trailer the customer must be notified.
• Proper use of Airline/Electrical hookup/and Backing procedure is a must.
• Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard

For this position, the expected base pay range is $24.50 – $24.50 . Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
