Job summary

DSV – Global Transport and Logistics in Edwardsville, IL, is seeking a Yard Driver to join our Solutions division. This full-time role requires a Class A CDL and at least 2 years of tractor-trailer experience, with a clean driving record and ability to meet DOT medical standards.

You will manage trailer placement, handle equipment checks, communicate with warehouse staff, and help maintain yard security while supporting efficient service for customers.

Qualifications

• Must have a Class A CDL.
• Minimum 2 years of verified tractor-trailer experience in the past 4 years.
• Must have a clean driving record and meet DOT medical standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing customer needs.
• Account for records involving trailer numbers and vehicle positions.
• Interact daily with warehouse supervisors and comply with safety requirements.
• Communicate using cellular phone or two-way radio with operations and warehouse personnel.
• Maneuver trucks into loading/unloading positions and place wheel chocks as needed.
• Follow airline/electrical hookup and backing procedures and company policies.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and assist in maintaining yard security.

Driver Requirements

• Must have a Class A CDL
• Minimum 2 years of verified tractor-trailer experience within the past 4 years
• Must have a clean driving record.
• Must meet DOT physical requirements and maintain valid medical certificate
• Must pass road and backing test during onboarding

Responsibilities/Duties

• Responsible to maintain a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the customer needs.
• Responsible for accounting for records involving trailer numbers and position of vehicles.
• Must function and interact on a daily basis with warehouse supervisors and comply with warehouse safety requirements.
• Must communicate using cellular telephone or 2-way radio with operations, and warehouse personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
• Must maneuver trucks into loading and unloading position, following signal from loading crew as needed. Also place safety wheel chocks in front of wheel/tire to prevent the trailer from rolling. If pup trailer movement is involved; extra care must be taken on the placement of the trailer jack stand (when at dock, jack stand must be on the ground and in a locked position). If there is not a jack stand installed on the trailer the customer must be notified.
• Proper use of Airline/Electrical hookup/and Backing procedure is a must.
• Follow all company policies, guidelines, and quality procedures.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
• On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the equipment.
• Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and yard

For this position, the expected base pay range is $24.50 – $24.50 . Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
