Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; CDL may be required.
• Experience operating yard tractors/hostlers or similar equipment preferred.
• Ability to maneuver equipment in confined spaces and active yard environments.
• Strong communication with dispatch, warehouse, and transportation teams.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification may be required.
• Strong attention to detail, situational awareness, and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to work overtime and flexible schedules.
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between parking areas, loading docks, staging areas, and maintenance locations.
• Connect and disconnect trailers per established procedures.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment.
• Accurately position trailers at docks and staging locations.
• Maintain records of trailer movements and yard activity.
• Communicate with dispatch and warehousing regarding locations and priorities.
• Operate forklifts or other material-handling equipment when trained.
• Keep yard organized, safe, and compliant with DOT requirements.
