Job summary

Stella-Jones is seeking a Logistics Supervisor to oversee yard operations, staff, and dispatching to ensure safe, efficient performance. The role is office-based in Cameron, WI or Kansas City, MO.

You will optimize routes, supervise drivers and 3rd-party carriers, ensure DOT compliance, and manage yard inventory and equipment maintenance. Travel up to 15% and after-hours support may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in logistics, transportation, dispatch, yard operations, fleet coordination; 5+ years preferred.
• Experience using SAP to support operational activities (inventory, shipping, receiving, dispatch).
• Experience coordinating deliveries and dispatching drivers/third-party carriers, resolving service issues.
• Knowledge of DOT requirements, driver documentation, permits, and safe yard operations.
• Ability to lead, train, and supervise staff with focus on safety, quality and performance.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving and customer-service skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Able to travel up to 15% and provide after-hours/on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Optimize delivery routes for drivers before each shift and report on efficiencies.
• Monitor yard functions for policy compliance.
• Dispatch drivers and carriers and coordinate with internal teams.
• Track truck movements for on-time pickups and deliveries.
• Resolve issues with drivers and customers related to service, directions, or paperwork.
• Develop sourcing strategies for freight lanes and minimize freight costs.
• Provide on-call support for driver questions and storm response.
• Maintain yard equipment and manage preventative maintenance with vendors.
• Perform yard inventory cycles and annual counts.
• Ensure compliance with laws and regulations across internal resources.
• Support safety programs, DOT and OSHA awareness.
• Supervise staff, conduct evaluations, approve PTO, and mentor team.
