Job summary

Trane Technologies in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Crane Operator to support finished goods yard and shipping operations. You will load/unload, stage, and move HVAC products using Mi-Jack/MJ100 and other equipment, with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and efficiency.

The role requires outdoor work in varying weather, at least 2 years of heavy equipment experience, and a valid driver's license. OT and weekend shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of heavy equipment operating experience required.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions required.
• Mi‑Jack or Travelift operating experience preferred.
• Container handling experience preferred.
• Rail or intermodal yard experience preferred.
• Forklift certification CDL Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Mi-Jack MJ100 Straddle Carrier safely and efficiently in the finished goods storage yard.
• Load and unload trailers, transport vehicles and other equipment to support shipping and yard operations.
• Stage and position finished HVAC products and materials based on priorities.
• Perform pre‑shift and post‑shift inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Follow standard work, procedures, and safety rules.
• Support inventory accuracy and participate in cycle counts as required.
• Coordinate with logistics, shipping, yard leadership and other teams.
• Maintain safety policies and site requirements; ensure clean, safe work area.
• Attend meetings and contribute to team goals; demonstrate teamwork and proactive behavior.
